Helping Students Find Their Strength

(without fear of judgement)

Most, if not all, of the challenges schools face such as attendance, behaviour, exam results, bullying, and self-confidence can be traced back to the same starting point: student wellbeing. How young people navigate and understand their inner world shapes everything about how they show up day to day, both inside and outside the classroom. When students don’t have the tools to make sense of their experiences, these issues only grow. But when they do, the impact is transformational.

I know this because I’ve lived it. I struggled with many of these challenges myself, and only through years of self-discovery did I come to understand the real root causes. Looking back, I know exactly what I and so many others needed to hear and discuss at this age, and that’s what I now deliver in my offerings. My work provides the space for open conversation, greater depth of understanding and inspiration to grow through stepping into their new level of self-awareness.

Wellbeing Assemblies

I suffered for the duration of my 12-year professional rugby career. Fortunately, I have been able to overcome my addictions, depression and crippling daily anxiety.

It was the passing of my little brother who sadly lost his battle with his mental health aged just 23, that gave me the courage to really look inwards and initiate change. I uncovered a lot. My insecurities, low level of self-worth and the root causes to so many other personal issues.

I share this journey with deep honesty and vulnerability, making it as relatable as possible. This inspires students to understand and value the importance of self-reflection and personal growth.

Interactive Workshop

Wellbeing Workshops

These sessions are designed to gently introduce new ways of thinking about mental wellbeing in a safe, supportive space. Students can simply reflect or share if they wish, building self-awareness, empathy, and confidence.

Hearing others speak openly helps students realise they’re not alone. I lead with honesty about my own experiences, creating a space where students feel respected and understood. Each workshop is bespoke to the year groups needs and allows the students to leave feeling equipped and empowered to initiate positive change.

1:1 Guidance

Student Mentoring

This service supports male students who need behavioural or emotional guidance, either as an intervention before exclusion or to help manage their mental health.

When young people don’t feel seen, heard or understood.. it often appears as challenging behaviour, emotional outbursts or withdrawal. Having longed for that same understanding, I know what these students truly need. Students will leave the program with the following:

  • A deeper understanding of themselves
  • Inspired to make changes
  • Tools to navigate their specific obstacles
  • Trust that there are spaces they can share safely within

Life changes as we realise we aren’t broken. Students feel relieved as they begin to make sense of their behaviours and emotions, finding hope that there is a way through with the right support. Each student identifies a member of staff they feel safe with, and together, the three of us create a strong base where they are deeply understood within the school. This is supported by a plan to carry forward as the mentoring ends, enabling continual progress.

Parents Talk

Parenting is one of life’s greatest joys, but that doesn’t mean It can’t also be hard, stressful, and filled with immense pressure. Even with the best intentions, our actions can sometimes move us away from connection, which is what children need most.

In this talk, I share my own experiences with anxiety, depression, and the challenges young people face today. Reflecting on what I truly needed growing up in terms of emotional support and understanding.

With compassion and honesty, I invite parents to explore new perspectives, leaving them informed, uplifted, and better equipped to understand their children’s experiences and offer meaningful support.
